Un'altra estate a Follonica sta per terminare, e quest'anno credo che un po' tutti ci siamo divertiti più del solito perché la città si è evoluta e ha offerto occasioni di svago come non mai. Un insieme ben congegnato di eventi ha reso le vie e il lungo mare vivaci e il pienone assolutamente meritato: l'inedito "Follonica Summer Festival", il "Carnevale estivo", le decine di piccoli intrattenimenti tra cui gli artisti di strada, la bellezza delle vie di passeggio e della zona ILVA, ex fonderia adesso diventata luogo magico.

E a chi fosse ancora critico con il tipico disordine, o accozzaglia architettonica, della cittadina, io rispondo e sottoscrivo quanto segue: "sono sempre più convinta che il disordine di Follonica, fatto di mare blu, ombrelloni e asciugamani spaiati, molte spiagge libere, cani, belle passeggiate, palazzoni anni ottanta, baracche sul mare, pinete e un grattacielo blu, diventerà prima o poi PATRIMONIO DELL'UNESCO!".

(Engl.) Here we are: a new summer is ending in Follonica, and almost everybody enjoyed this year more than ever, because the City evolved and offered amusement like never before! An intelligent set of events made the streets lively and the city deservedly full: the new "Follonica Summer Festival", the "Summer Carnival" and tens of little entertainment, including the street artists, the

beautiful corniche and the renewed ex-industrial zone of the ILVA, now a truly magic place.

And to whom is still critic against the typical "cozy" architectonical disorder of the city, I answer the following: -I am more and more convinced that the "disorder" of Follonica, made up of blue sea, unpaired umbrella and towels, several free beaches, dogs, beautiful corniches, tall 80's buildings, sea "shanties", pine forests and a blue skyscraper, will soon or later become UNESCO HERITAGE!"

And I hope that the future will agree with me...

Humoristic Philosophy - Filosofia umoristica

Se la vita è un gioco, e si  deve essere pronti al cambio di scena in qualsiasi momento, perchè non divertircisi dentro? Uno dei modi migliori che conosco è rendere qualcosa umoristico.
Perchè non trasformare la foto classica in un fumetto, e appiccicare il soggetto (il mio amato, in questo  caso) sopra un muro assieme a una serigrafia assieme filosofica,  comica e rivoluzionaria? Ne abbiamo trovata una di notte, mentre vagavamo in un vicolo al centro di Manama (Bahrein). In quel periodo la città stava attraversando delle turbolenze, che avevano reso i sobborghi ancora più affascinanti, popolandoli di lavori di arte muraria.
Ruggero ha accettato di posare sotto la luce abbagliante di un lampione, il resto è stato fatto con un forte effetto bianco e nero, ottenuto  alzando al massimo le manopole di "Lightroom" (il software che uso per sviluppare le foto), ed ecco un fumetto: una strip comica,  una frase filosofica e qualcosa che mette di buon umore. Perchè no? A chi non piace?

...If life is a play, and you must be ready to change the scene in every moment, why not to amuse oneself, meanwhile? One of the best ways I know is to make something becoming humoristic.
Why not to transform the classic photo and paste a person (my beloved one, in this case) on a wall together with a serighraphy, somewhat philosophical, comic and revolutionary? We have found it one night while wandering in a small street in the center of Manama (Bahrein). In that period the city was experimenting some social turbolence and this somehow had increased the fashion of the suburb by populating it with several wall-art works.
Ruggero accepted to pose under the sharp light of a street lamp, the rest has been done by adding a strong black and white effect, obtained by lifting to the extreme values the knobs of "lightrooom" (the software which I use to develop the pictures), and here you have a comic strip, a philosophic sentence, and something which puts you in a good mood. Why not? Who doesn't like?

That Pretty Way...

C'è una cosa che mi ha sempre affascinato, qui in Arabia Saudita:  quel modo carino che hanno gli uomini di sistemarsi il caratteristico velo. Vederglielo fare mentre passano, o sono semplicemente seduti a un caffè, è sempre un'esperienza graziosa.

There is something  that has always fascinated me, during my time here in Saudi Arabia:  that pretty way in which men fix their characteristic veil. Seeing them doing it while passing, or when simply sitting in a coffee, is always a gracious experience.

          

These pictures have not been taken along the road or in a cafè, of course: this young man has accepted to pose in a studio, during the workshop "One Light" with Zack Arias at the Dubai 2017 Photography Week. And even if posing for a picture is not exaclty a spontaneous moment, the grace I was talking about has been portrayed.
Naturalmente queste foto non sono state fatte per strada o in un caffè: questo ragazzo ha accettato di posare in studio, durante lo stage “One Light” con Zack Arias, alla settimana della fotografia di Dubai 2017. E sebbene mettersi in posa non sia esattamente un momento spontaneo, la grazia di cui parlavo è stata ritratta.
    

Mission Complete!! 365 Foto in un anno! - 365 photos in one year!

L'anno scorso, il giorno della Befana, la decisione: avrei creato un blog, e postato una foto al giorno per un anno. Oggi posso festeggiare la fine del progetto!  Da oggi in poi il blog diventa una cosa diversa, di sicuro più libero da scadenze. Tanti Auguri Photo Blog, e grazie alle molte persone che lo hanno visitato!

Stamattina alle 6 mentre andavo al lavoro, dal mio taxi ho visto l'alba sorgere..niente di strano, se non fosse il primo dell'anno, che qui in Arabia è un giorno normalissimo! 

This morning at six while going to work, from my taxi I saw the dawn rising...nothing strange, if it weren't the first day of the year, that here in Arabia is a very normal day!
